David Morris MP, Member for Mornington has pleasure in advising that applications for the National Youth Week 2012 grants program are now open.
National Youth Week (NYW) is Victoria’s largest celebration of young people and next year will be held from 13 - 22 April 2012 with the theme “Imagine. Create. Inspire”.
NYW grants celebrate and recognize the value of all young people in their local communities by supporting local projects, events and activities organized by young people for young people.
Mr Morris said the Victorian Coalition Government in partnership with the Australian Government and beyondblue, through Youthbeyondblue, is offering young people working in partnership with community based organisations, local government authorities and schools, the opportunity to apply for one of two types of grants:
- $2,000 for local community-based events; or
- $2,000 for events that raise awareness of depression and anxiety.
The Victorian Government is committed to supporting the contributions of young people, listening to their views and providing them with opportunities to actively participate in their community.
Applications for NYW 2012 grants will close on 9 December 2011.
