Protecting the Mount Eliza Green Wedge

23 May 2007

A petition urging the Bracks Government to protect the Mount Eliza Green Wedge, bearing a total of 2,019 signatures in two instalments, was tabled in the Legislative Assembly on 19 April and 23 May 2007:

"To the Legislative Assembly of Victoria:

The petition of residents of Victoria draws to the attention of the House the urgent need for the State Government to protect the Green Wedge land between Mount Eliza and Mornington from development pressures and defacto subdivision.

The petitioners therefore request that the Legislative Assembly of Victoria calls on the Government to take immediate action to ensure that the proposed title boundary realignment for the Norman Lodge and Gunyong Valley properties be refused."
