Mr MORRIS — On 24 September I had the pleasure of participating in the opening of the new home for community radio station RPPFM at Mornington.
The project has involved the conversion of a former school science block, owned by the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council, into a state‑of‑the‑art broadcasting and recording facility.
The work has been a truly cooperative effort, with the station, the shire and, in particular, local Rotary clubs under the watchful eye of Captain Dick Cox, working together to deliver an excellent community facility.
The collaboration of the shire and community groups demonstrates just what can be achieved when all work together, and it provides a potential template to be used in community projects across the state.
